To Eat or Not To Eat

By now we should all know that a starvation diet (less than 800 calories per day) is not a sustainable way to lose weight and keep it off. While you will drop some water weight initially, your body needs fuel aka food, so eat. Please understand that I am not condemning any type of intermittent fasting because it can be effective if done properly. In this case I am simply saying more is less. Eating more of the right types of foods will help you weigh less. I do want to mention that depriving yourself of all things good such as bread, pasta, and sweets is no way to live life. These things can and should be enjoyed in moderation. Try making some healthy swaps that allow for a nice indulgence once or twice a week. For example, swap out that big bowl of breakfast cereal with steel-cut oatmeal and trade in the second helping of dinner for a piece of fruit. Just like anything else weight loss is a balance, it may take some time for you to determine what works best for you but it can be done.
